I have never been to a kava bar before. I have only drank kava one other time and I made it myself with some powder I ordered online. The taste is pretty much like muddy water and you get a relaxed feeling from it but you still feel clear headed not cloudy like alcohol. They make the stuff pretty weak at kava bars around here. If I were in Hawaii or another south pacific place it would be much stronger and better (not tasting lol). This place is in Hollywood, Florida and it is called Mystic Water Kava Bar. They place some mystical music and the place looks like an enchanted forest. I had like 20 shots, no lie. Towards the end I started to feel something. Then when I got home, I got a really bad stomach ache and puked. I think I drank too much. I do not think it had anything to do with the kava itself. I jsut had an enture belly full of muddy water!! No hangover the next day and I slept really well. After I puked that is. Alcohol is fun but it's not very good for your skin so I am not drinking as of now. This was my alternative. I wish they had better music at this place. If they placed some house/dance music then it would be so much more fun. As I was driving home, I was listening to Y-100 and they had dance music on. I was feeling the kava more then and the music just made the feeling better. Way better than that flute music in the backround.
